  • Different Types Of Microphones In Film.

There are a few different types of microphones you can use for film making. At DAB Acting we've found audio was one of the hardest things for us to get right. So here is a couple of the most common microphones used in film.

    Boom Mic/Shotgun Mic:

Usually put on a stand or held by the "Audio Guy" it picks up the noise directly in front of it.

    Lavalier Mic or LAV:

This mic is attached to your actor's wardrobe and then connected to either a mic pack in the actors pocket or wired into an audio recorder, or directly into your camera.

There really is no way to beat a boom mic! It has the most crisp, clear audio.
