So a lot of the people on this forum are young actors and actresses, and what this blog is going to be about is some life skills you learn from acting.

Public Speaking:

Public speaking can be the scariest thing in the world for some people. As an actor public speaking is what you do, so when you are an adult and have to give a speech to your coworkers about a new project. You're going to be miles ahead of someone who hasn't done theatre before.

Improv:

If you ever acted before you know you have to be prepared for anything. All it takes is someone doesn't enter when they are supposed to, or a glass falls and breaks on stage. You have to be able to impov and make it threw a scene no matter what happens. Now in real life having that as a skill can be super helpful in a social situation or a job interview or anything along those lines, just being quick on your feet can be a great skill to have.

Memorization:

Memorization is a key point of being an actor, you need to know your lines blocking etc. And in your normal life it can come in super handy being able to memorize things quickly. If you are still in school being able to memorize things for a test with ease is a great feeling. Also being able to memorize things easily is important for a lot of jobs as well.

Thanks for reading my blog! Let me know if you have any questions.
